Nishil Thakkar ’17

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at American chapter.

Name: Nishil Thakkar

Hometown: Richmond, VA, born and raised!

Major: SIS

Relationship status: Single

What are you involved in on campus: I’m a brother of Delta Tau Delta and I play club soccer.

What’s something people don’t know about you: I did district and regional chorus until I was 14, I was a big chorus nerd back in the day! I still have some of the sheet music, actually. Another thing people don’t know is that even though I can’t really fluently speak Hindi, I know all the words to Indian songs — not that I know what they mean.

Ideal date: I would start right in the middle of day, and we’d definitely have to play soccer first. Then maybe we’d go home, keep it casual. I’d like to do something involving a body of water, too, maybe dinner by a river? Oh, and drink a bottle of…fancy grape juice…in a really picturesque place.

Ideal girl: She definitely needs to be a bro. It’d be cool if she was a soccer player, but I don’t discriminate! Calm, with a little attitude, a little flair. I like dark haired and dark eyed girls. I don’t like a relationship without fights; I think fights keep a relationship healthy, so someone a little a feisty.

Celebrity crush: Alex Morgan

Dream job: When I was a kid, my dream job was to be a European soccer coach, because I wanted to have the ability to buy a three-piece Armani suit. That used to be a realistic dream for me when I was a kid, but now, I would be interested in conflict resolution. I don’t want to be a diplomat or a politician, but maybe a translator for a global organization, like the World Bank. I’d like to help facilitate international communication.

Guilty pleasure: High School Musical, all three. I probably still know most of the words to the songs. I don’t really mind chick flicks in general. Oh wait, I was a Model UN geek in high school. That’s another one. I was a Model UN killer

Favorite place on campus: Mudbox Café in the library basement, I love their caramel macchiatos.

Favorite place you’ve travelled: Barcelona, Spain. I went when I was little, but it was amazing. I’d love to go again!
