Jaime Clark: RHA Executive Board Chief of Staff

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at American chapter.

We sat down with Jamie Clark (above left), a student who works for the Resident Hall Association at American University. Here’s what she had to say about her job and other interests on campus.

Her Campus American University: How long have you been involved in the Residence Hall Association?

Jaime Clark: This is my second year. I started first semester last year as a freshman and I’ve done it ever since.

HCAU: What does the Exeutive Board Chief of Staff do?

JC: I do a lot of record keeping like minutes for executive board meetings and general assembly meetings. Then I read over the minutes from all other RHA meeting so I can be aware of everything happening. I also run the administrative board and try to keep them happy. Besides that I just make sure everyone is doing their job and I provide help to anyone who needs it. I provide support for all other members of RHA.

HCAU: What’s your favorite part of RHA?

JC: Getting to meet new people and getting to help the residence halls be welcoming and safe communities to everyone.

HCAU: What are your goals for this year as Chief of Staff?

JC: This year we rearranged the way RHA is run and I believe these changes are for the better so I want to help uphold them and keep a clear record so that the future members can follow our footsteps.

HCAU: What else are involved in besides RHA?

JC: I am on the rugby team. Besides classes and school work, rugby and RHA take up most of my free time.

HCAU: What advice would you give to people who want to get involved in RHA?

JC: Just go for it! It’s a great organization if you’re interested in improving campus life. We’re always looking for students to get involved. The more the merrier! Just reach out to any of us already involved and we’ll help point you in the right direction.
