Eco-Sense's Mock Oil Spill

Marking the three-year anniversary of the BP Deepwater Horizon oil disaster, international ocean conservation group Oceana, along with American University’s student group Eco-Sense, will hold a public demonstration on the quad to highlight the risk of expanded offshore oil drilling to the East Coast and to call for a clean energy future. The event will include students wearing hazmat suits and will demonstrate the dangers of expanded offshore oil drilling. The group will also display a model offshore wind farm, complete with three-foot tall spinning offshore wind turbine replicas, demonstrating the ability to harness clean renewable energy from our oceans....
