Mintwood Place, ranked #17 on the Washingtonian’s 2015 list of 100 Very Best Restaurants, serves a blend of American and French cuisine. While the escargot hush puppies looked inviting, I played it safe on the American side and opted for a big plate of smoked salmon and spinach eggs benedict. Topped with capers, this hearty meal was like a nova lox bagel – but better. The poached eggs were perfectly runny and the hollandaise sauce was tart, but not overwhelming.
