5 Autumn Nail Trends We’re Totally Falling For

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at American chapter.

The time has come and you are starting to whip out your knit sweaters, leggings and riding boots. You begin to spot the infamous Pumpkin Spice Latte around campus, but have you paid attention to the very hands holding the thermal cup? Autumn has arrived, and sometimes the chilly weather can put a damper on your style and make it bland. What better way is there to brighten up your ensemble than a DIY manicure? Here’s some of our favorite fall-inspired nail trends this season.

1. Classic Neutral With a Twist

There’s something so chic and polished about a neutral nail color, and we love when golden sparkles are thrown into the mix. This manicure is simple enough to wear on a casual day of classes, but glamorous enough for a night out on the town as well!

2. Navy with Gold Detail

Put away your black polish from last season. Nails coated with a deep navy color are on trend this fall. To add an extra pop of color to your base coat, try a small, simple gold design. Pairing the design with a couple of simple gold rings can also tie the whole look together. This trend is perfect for those days when you want to feel elegant without looking like you’re trying too hard.

3. Burgundy Hues

Autumn is all about rich tones of red and orange. Instead of donning a typical candy apple red, try going a little darker to a deep burgundy shade. A deep warm color can bring out your fall spirit without being too obvious. The contrast of the deep color to your skin will also make your nails pop.

4. Nail Jewels

Calling all daring fashionistas! This trend is a great way to get a professional-looking manicure at home. The variations in polish colors make your nails look unique without being too crazy. The gold studs also add a personal touch to the look.

5. Asymmetrical Stripes

Instead of sporting the same cookie-cutter stripes, switch up your routine by adding asymmetrical designs to your manicure. The orange and black color combo is perfect if you are looking for a festive Halloween manicure that isn’t too cheesy.
