Meet this week’s Campus Celebrity- Amiynah Campbell

Where are you from?

I’m from Teaneck, New Jersey

What is your major and year?

I’m a Freshman.  Right now I’m major in Theatre, but I’m thinking of switching it to Psychology, we’ll see.

What are you involved in on campus?

I’m on the UAlbany track team- I throw the weight, hammer, and discus.

How long have you been throwing for?

I started my Sophomore year of high school, and have loved it ever since.

With an athlete’s schedule find yourself pressed for time? How do you manage it?

I practice really early, and my classes revolve around it.  It’s m`ore about staying organized so that way I am able to strike a balance.

Things you do for fun?

Listen to music and hang with friends and watch my favorite TV shows.

What are some of your highlights being a UAlbany student so far?

I like being on my own (away from home) and the experience of all the new people I met, both friends and teammates online.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I hope that I have a successful career doing what I want to do.
