Spice up your Thanksgiving!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Adelphi chapter.

Spice up your Thanksgiving with some new traditions! It’s always fun to add new traditions to the old; you can create so many more memories and fun things to do!

1. Skype with your college friends! You’re not with them on the holiday so find a way to show them that you’re thankful for them; if you don’t have time to skype, send them a quick text! Anything that shows you care!

2. Have a Thanksgiving dinner with your friends! Have it the day after and continue the joy! Who wouldn’t want to keep eating good food with good people?! Make it a potluck!

3. Volunteer! This is a holiday to be grateful for what you have so help someone who isn’t as lucky. Make someone else’s day better, it will make the whole day feel more special.

4. Exercise in the morning! Have a family exercise class or jog or anything that gets the heart pumping! Burn some extra calories so you don’t feel guilty about that 3rd or 4th serving later!

5. Have Thanksgiving in your pajamas! Why haven’t we done this before?? They’re stretchy, comfy and who doesn’t love their pajamas?

6. Make it a game night! Don’t just sink into a food coma after dinner, play a board game or some charades!

7. Switch up the food you serve! Give the night a theme!

 8. Watch the parade! This may not seem new to most people but I know I don’t watch it so if you’re like me sit down with some hot chocolate and your family and watch the floats go by!

Try one or try them all to spice up your Thanksgiving! Create a new tradition each year!
