With all of the stressful situations that we go though every day, it’s extremely important to take time and relax not only for your mental health, but your physical health as well! Especially with finals coming our way soon, we can all use a little time to let it all go.  These relaxation tips are sure to get your head back in the game!

Lay off of Social Media

I know this sounds very anxiety inducing, but you’d be surprised at how relieving it can be not worrying about looking at your social media accounts every five minutes. It will also give you plenty to look at when you go back to it!

Do Yoga

Yoga is a life changing practice. Not only is it a great workout, it is so balancing, and it focuses greatly on the breath and relaxing yourself completely. You’re guaranteed to come out of your practice feeling fresh and ready to take on anything.

Set Aside At Least an Hour a Day For Yourself

Sometimes if you’re feeling tense, you may not have had time to just wind down and do whatever you want in the comfort of privacy. Make sure you have time to focus on yourself, and let your guard down completely.

Take Time to Focus on Hobbies

No matter what it is that you’re interested in, it’s important to keep up with it, and enjoy it. It can be incredibly centering to follow your passion.

Socialize

While time to yourself is necessary, so is interacting with others. Whether it’s your friends, your family, or both, sharing your time with people that you feel close to always help with letting loose.

Stay Healthy

Eating healthy plays a huge part in feeling good overall, and keeping your stress level down. Although we are tempted to eat junk foods when we are stressed, it’s always a much better idea to fight the urge. Besides taking care of your self on the inside, taking care of yourself on the outside is equally as important. By showering daily (or every other day for some), keeping your teeth clean, and taking care of your skin will help keep your attitude positive overall.

Spend Time Outside

Getting fresh air can be so cleansing, spending time with nature is so important. Take a walk somewhere you’ve never been, take a drive to the beach with friends, or go for a nice long bike ride (make sure to bundle up)!
