We’ve all seen the movies – but do the Hollywood portrayals of college life ring true, or are they only fit for the big screen?

Pitch Perfect: A Cappella groups mean serious businessTRUE. Even if your school doesn’t have a particularly active A Capella group, there is no denying that these groups of sensational singers have become ingrained into real college life.

Pitch Perfect: Those who perform together, stay together

TRUE. Yeah okay, performance groups can be the location of the most drama on campus, but at the end of the day, your group is your clique and ain’t no body messing with it.

The Roommate: Your roommate will be a crazy psycho stalker

True. Well no, okay. FALSE. Let’s face it, even the worst of roommates will never be as bad as Rebecca.

Monsters University: You’ll find friendships in the most unlikely places

TRUE. That guy who came off like a jerk on the first day? He might just be your best friend in three months.

Monsters University: Fraternities and Sororities are the big players on campus

TRUE AND FALSE. Fraternities and Sororities can be great places to bond and form lifelong relationships with your peers and become active in campus life, but they aren’t the only places. If Greek life isn’t for you – don’t worry.

The House Bunny: Playboy bunnies will become your house mothers

FALSE. The chances of this actually happening are quite slim. However, the movie brings up an important factual point: everyone has something to offer. Don’t write people off because they’re too pretty to be smart, or they seem weird if they keep to themselves. Some of the closest college friendships come out of having an open mind and appreciating what others have to contribute.

Legally Blonde: You’ll kick butt

TRUE. Heck yea, you will! You can break down stereotypes just like Elle Woods. You want to go to Harvard? Work for it and you’ll get it! Don’t let anyone put down your self worth, especially your dumb-as-a-brick ex!

The Social Network: You’ll invent something that changes the world

THIS ONE IS UP TO YOU.  Take advantage of the opportunities that college life has to offer, and someday your college days might be turned into a movie too.
