For those who know me, know I am big into movies and there are few that I have not seen. So far this year, there have been some amazing movies that have come out, most recently, “The Quiet Place” which is certified fresh from Rotten Tomatoes and “Rampage” starring my favorite, Dwayne Johnson. This list has got me so excited for the next few months and waiting these movies are quite honestly what is getting me through the last few weeks of this semester.

1. Overboard

Release Date: May 4, 2018

When I was sitting in the movie theater the other day watching the previews, this one came on. As I was watching, I felt like I already knew the story. It wasn’t until the very end of the commercial that I realized this is a remake of the 1987 “Overboard” starring Goldie Hawn (Kate Hudson’s mom) and Kurt Russell. In the original, Hawn and Russell had already been married for 4 years and you can feel their chemistry. I hope this remake is able to capture the same feelings.

2. Life of the Party

Release Date: May 11, 2018

If you love Melissa McCarthy, then this is the film for you! Melissa’s character, Deanna, ends up going back to college after her husband leaves her. When she ends up at the same school as her daughter, she dives head first into campus life, parties and frat guys. Need a good laugh? Check out the trailer to hold you over until it comes to a theater near you!

3. Solo: A Star Wars Story

Release Date: May 25, 2018

I feel so bad for my boyfriend because whenever we go to the movies and I see a preview for this movie, I hit his arm so hard. But I just can’t help it! I have had this release date on my calendar since they first announced it. Finally bringing us the story of Han Solo with special guests like Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson and Alden Ehrenreich who plays Han Solo. If you can’t contain your hype, like me, here is the latest trailer to keep you satisfied until May 25.

4. Ocean’s 8

Release Date: June 8, 2018

As a big fan of female reboots as well as the Ocean’s film series, I can not WAIT for this one to hit theaters! With Sandra Bullock as Debbie Ocean, along side amazing women including Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling, Anne Hathaway and so many more, there is no way that this movie will not be a hit!

5. Incredibles 2

Release Date: June 15, 2018

Maybe you have been living under a rock these past few months but….Incredibles 2 is finally coming out! After 14 long years of waiting, they are finally releasing a sequel to this fantastic movie! So grab your super suit and head to the theaters on June 15!

6. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Release Date: June 22, 2018

This sequel is what we have been waiting for since the first Jurassic World came out in 2015. Chris Pratt is back and this time they are trying to save all the animals from a volcano that is about to erupt. This comes out 4 days after my birthday and you can bet you’ll see me at the movies for my birthday! Check out the trailer here to hold you over for now.

7. Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again

Release Date: July 20,2018

Here we go again indeed! I am such a huge Mamma Mia fan! I have seen it on Broadway twice, in community theater, in the movies, performed songs in high school drama cabarets and more! So you can bet I was psyched to find out that this second movie is not just a hoax but the real deal! Since this one is still a few months away, I have to watch the trailer quite often to keep myself satisfied until it comes out!

Looking forward to these movies is pretty much the only thing that is getting me through these last few weeks of school. All of these movies are a must-see and I hope this inspires you to grab a friend or two and go see one of these movies!
