When senior Olivia Hammill flips her tassel to the left on May 13, she will graduate knowing she has left a lasting impact, not only on UNC but on the greater Chapel Hill community.
Hammill, a public service scholar, also served as chief of staff for Mary Cooper’s administration and president of Order of the Bell Tower during her four years at the University.
She says if her friends had to...

My mom recently informed me that she is considering purchasing a taser for me to carry for protection. My initial reaction was to roll my eyes and tell her that she was being too paranoid, but then I started thinking about all of the stories of women being attacked and decided that maybe she had a valid point. And since April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, I did some research on ways college...

School’s almost out and that can only mean one thing ... swimsuit season! Finding a cute (and affordable!) suit to sport by the pool or on the beach can sometimes be frustrating or seem downright impossible. Lucky for you, I’ve picked out some of this season’s finest at VS and Target and a few adorable accessory necessities. Play it safe in a brightly colored bandeau or halter...

It’s 1 a.m. on a Wednesday and you’re struggling with a thesis sentence under the fluorescent lights of Davis Library. You alternate between writing single words and deleting them, changing Pandora stations, and topping off your water bottle every five minutes at the fountain just to get out of your seat.
The 27th incarnation of your thesis statement is less coherent than a drunken...

This week’s campus cutie is trombone aficionado Dalton Harris. Involved in four musical ensembles, he also enjoys yoga and watching baseball.

Year: Junior
Major: Music and rhetoric
What should people know about you first: I always get my large waffle cones at YOPO with hot fudge even though I don't like it. And then I tip them a dime.

Fifteen years ago, the Oscar-winning movie Titanic was released. It became one of the highest grossing films of all time. Three years before the Titanic hit theatres, The Lion King was released. It became one of Walt Disney’s classic animated films. And in 1991, another Disney classic, Beauty and the Beast, was released. While most of us grew up with these classics...
