Sorry, junk food, OUR RELATIONSHIP ENDS HERE. We just discovered Crystal Light Hard Candy. It tastes just like the powdered drink mix, but it's a hard candy. Also, it has BASICALLY NO CALORIES. Like original Crystal Light, it's sugar free but tastes like real sugar. We're not saying you should eat a whole bag of these in one sitting but if you do, not that we did or...

It’s safe to say that for most of us at Cornell, studying abroad is part of our college plan. But even with a study abroad plan in the works (or behind you), when Spring begins to peak through the clouds, the travel itch starts, and dreaming about an epic Euro-trip or an Australian adventure becomes a daily distraction when struggling through our oh-so-boring lectures. But planning a trip...

I really need to post more often than once a week… so many things happen! Wonderful, exciting, Londony things that I need to tell people about. After last Friday’s crazy busy day we took the rest of the weekend easy… hung out, slept, grocery shopped, homeworked, etc. I also started watching Doctor Who… BEST. (For anyone who doesn’t know, this is a BBC science...

You know what’s difficult? Sitting down and writing down things that have happened to you. I am reminded now why I never was able to get into journaling. However, I’ve told too many people I was doing this to back out now, so heeeeeere we go. LONDON! That is the city where I am. Where I have been for a week now, but it kind of feels like a lifetime. Basically it’s the first week...

Last year, I would have been embarrassed by the fact that this is only my second post for this month. But that was before I enrolled at Cornell; before I sold my soul to this university in exchange for a note-taking induced arthritic right hand. At the root of all of my issues? Prelims. I blame them for any and all of my problems. Honestly? My prelims have all gone relatively well, and studying...

“How’s Canada?” That’s what my Boston College friends ask me on a weekly basis. And let’s be honest, it’s a fair question. Ithaca, New York: home to an Ivy, cows, and more gorge related humor than I can and/or care to keep track of. It’s the complete opposite of where I had my first-year experience. Boston College (BC): a mere five minute subway ride to...

Parents have gone, rooms are set up, and the (ridiculously) awkward freshman game night is behind us. Thank you lord! As I stand atop Libe Slope, dazed, I am hit with a sudden rush of exhilaration and anxiety. I am at Cornell!   I’m in the post-orientation period. It feels like it’s been months already! But hey, who’s complaining? Days seem shorter and the clock seems...

My second term was filled with fancy schmansy occasions. Formal hall occurred every other week in our dining hall. Basically my group of friends would all get dressed up and go to our dining hall, where we were served a three course meal in a candle-lit setting. One meal was so fancy that we had to wear robes (a la Harry Potter). I laugh to myself every time I go to formal hall, because I try to...

Dear Potential Employers, I see you. I see you at your desk with a stack of names – candidates with seemingly-flawless resumes and stellar academic credentials. By this point you may have become bored with the monotonous process of Googling names. Or you may be Facebooking your potential interns and gleefully chuckling to yourself as you come upon some blurry shot of said intern doing a keg...

At this point of the journey, every day brought a new and unexpected adventure. When S. and I first sat down and planned this trip in the Studenterhuset, we were not expecting to be stuck in Figueres, Spain or Cerebres, France. And we were certainly not expecting to take a 20 hour train ride across eastern France and back down through the Swiss Alps just to get to Verona, Italy. When I heard...
