CU’s attempt to steer the students away from the annual 4/20 Norlin Quad event was shot down by the majority of students. Our University spent a great deal of money, approximately $80,000-$150,000, in order to promote a Wyclef Jean concert and help deter the pot smoking extravaganza. Unfortunately, it was recorded that a mere 400 students filled the 11,000 seat arena. In addition,...

President Obama has announced that he will be speaking on Tuesday, April 24th at CU. The event will be at the Coors Events Center and students can get their free tickets starting at 11:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 22nd.

“Nothing is more beautiful than a naked body. The most beautiful garment that may clothe a woman are the arms of a man she loves, but for those who have not had the chance to find this happiness, I am here,” –Yves Saint Laurent.
In a state full of outdoor enthusiasts who might confuse some of fashion’s most famous designers with a type of yoga; our capital is...

Obviously the internet is a wealth of information... Basically, any question can be answered by Google, and you'll stumble upon answers to questions you didn't even know you had on the way. There are a ton of knowledgeable, interesting, and clever internet personalities out there; however, it can be a bit overwhelming to figure out who to listen to and who to follow. Here is a quick list...

The weather in Boulder lately has been both a blessing AND a curse. On the one hand, the first signs of spring are beginning to show: brighter walks to campus in the morning, longer evenings, rooftop parties. Any way you cut it, spring has almost sprung. But unfortunately this warm and inviting weather makes sitting in class or studying at the library (yikes!) almost unbearable, and especially...

After dropping my sister off at the airport, I started thinking of annoying things girls tend to do when they travel. We’ve all seen “that girl” at parties, in class and around campus. And let’s be honest, we’ve all been “that girl” at one time or another. But, one of the most annoying times to encounter “that girl” is while you’re...

Living in Boulder, the food options are endless. We have access to all kinds of grocery stores, sandwich shops, and upscale dining of all cuisines. Living as a college student in Boulder, our options can sometimes be more limited. Yes, there is an abundance of sandwich, snack, and pizza shops but, if we want something a little different, where are we supposed to go without burning a hole in...

Watch out Pac 12, here come the Lady Buffs! Last month, the CU athletic department announced that the university is adding a Division 1 women’s lacrosse team by 2014. By adding another women’s team, the university hopes to attract more female athletes as well as more all around interest in the school. This decision makes CU the second school in Colorado with a D1 women’s...

Everyone had their hopes up for our football team to take home some wins after joining the Pac-12 last year. Lets just say we did not meet everyone’s priding expectations as we ended the season with a 3-10 record. However, things are looking up and eyes are wide as CU recruited a fresh batch of 27 incoming recruits for the upcoming season.
The team pulled most of the best players...

It’s no secret that finding parking on the university of Colorado’s campus is not an easy task and CU is trying to take action to make the process smoother for commuters. The campus might be seeing changes in the very near future. The plan was presented at the Boulder Campus Planning Commission meeting.
The University of Colorado projects a 9.4% increase in student enrollment...
