HCBentley’s Favorite Vacation Spots

Wednesday, May 9, 2012

I love to vacation in Perkin’s Cove in Ogunquit, Maine. It is the perfect spot to sit or walk along way to take in the ocean views.

Stephanie traveled to Vail, CO to ski with her parents for a week. It was the best family vacation she has ever been on. Now that Stephanie and her family are moving out west, she cannot wait to ski Vail again!

Krista’s favorite place is Bar Harbor on Mount Desert Island in Maine. She usually goes there for her birthday every year and spends the whole week camping, biking and hiking. The s’mores and gorgeous views are always a plus too!

This photo was taken in Camden, a cute little town on the coast of Maine. Jenna’s mom started vacationing there when she was little, and now her family continues to spend a week or two there every summer!

Two summers ago Jessica V went to the Dominican Republic with her family and best friend and it was one of the best vacations she’d ever had. Since then it's definitely been one of her favorite places to go on vacation.

Jessica J and her boyfriend went to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure in Orlando. She is a huge Harry Potter fan so it was a dream -come -true when she got to go!

Ali Kane and Brandon Muir, both studying abroad this semester, spent their spring break in Barcelona. Gaudi' Parc Guell was a favorite spot to soak up the sun, catch up on a good book, and admire the scenery.

Fenway Park Open House

Sunday, May 6, 2012

On April 19th, I headed to Fenway Park with my boyfriend, an expert Red Sox fan, for the Fenway Park Open House. In celebration of Fenway’s 100th birthday, the park was open for tours and access to exclusive areas all day. Though I’ve only been a Sox fan since coming to Massachusetts for college, I loved the opportunity to see such a historic park up close. Check out what we saw!

After waiting in a long line, we were finally able to go on the field!

The Green Monster was a major destination for fans—it was even open to look inside for those who got there early enough.

Yawkey Way was packed with Red Sox fans, eager to explore Fenway.

Getting to go inside the press box on the 5th level was one of my favorite parts of the day. The view was picture-perfect.

Fenway Park is an incredible place, full of history, fans, and passion. The Red Sox have called it home since 1912 and I look forward to watching many more years of exciting games!

Greek Week 2012

Sunday, May 6, 2012

Last week was Bentley University’s Greek Week, a chance for each chapter to come together and compete in fun challenges.

One of the most entertaining parts of Greek Olympics was watching the Ice Melt Challenge—two brothers from each fraternity had to use their body heat to melt a frozen t-shirt.

Greek Olympics took place on Friday and began with a water balloon toss competition, despite the cold wind!

Thursday’s event was a sculpture-building contest. Each chapter had to collect cans and make a unique sculpture—Alpha Phi won the sorority competition. All of the food was then donated to a local food shelter.

Each chapter received Greek Week t-shirts in a unique color. Everyone wore their shirts on Friday to show their spirit!

Spring Day 2012

Friday, May 4, 2012

This past weekend was Bentley's annual Spring Day. There was a huge barbeque, bounce houses, karaoke, games, and of course, the concert featuring The White Panda and Nelly. Check out our pictures from the big day!

King Spyda-- Live at the Pub

Wednesday, May 2, 2012

Although the rain was coming down on Earth Day, there was something special on campus to make the day a little better.  The Green Society hosted a BBQ at which Bentley’s own King Spyda performed.  You may have never heard of King Spyda, but I’m sure you’ve seen him around campus and working at Lazybones.  Check out these pictures of his performance and make sure to visit his youtube page

Things We'll Buy When We're Rich

Saturday, April 28, 2012

We all know money can’t buy happiness. We’ve been told that since we were little kids and that’s because it is, of course, true. However, right now we are in college, working our butts off to get good grades in order to get the job of our dreams. So, with finals right around the corner and the weather getting better and better every day, a little motivation to study for that Economics exam instead of playing cornhole on the Greenspace with your friends might be necessary. So hopefully something on this list will catch your eye and be just the inspiration you need to work hard enough to ace those finals.
