This Woman Left 27 Contacts In Her Eye and Didn’t Even Notice

A 65-year-old woman was just about to have cataract surgery when the medical staff found a mass of 17 contacts in her eye, NPR reports.

Last November at Solihull Hospital in England, the staff was preparing to inject the woman’s eye with anesthesia. The incident wasn’t reported in medical journals until this week. Specialist trainee ophthalmologist, Rupal Morjaria, told Optometry Today, “All the 17 contact lenses were stuck together. We were really surprised that the patient didn’t notice it because it would cause quite a lot of irritation while it was sitting there.”

They then found 10 more loose contacts in the eye. The woman did not report any irritation to any previous doctors. How could you possibly ignore 27 contacts stuck in your eye?

“She thought her previous discomfort was just part of old age and dry eye,” Morjaria added. But when the contacts were removed, the woman said she felt a lot more comfortable. No matter what this woman says, this story is STILL unbelievable!

Her cataract surgery was rescheduled so that her eye will have a bit of time to recover. But are YOU ever going to recover from reading about this?
