Girl Scout cookie lovers, we have some bad news—The price of each box may be going up by $1.
According to CBS News, Girl Scout chapters in Massachusetts, California and Hawaii are the first chapters to accounce the price increase in the cookies—Boxes are now $5 each. The price increase is due to increased production costs of the cookies.
The raise in prices would allow chapters to make about 30 cents more profit per box than before, Cosmopolitan reports.
Although some people said they wouldn’t buy the cookies if they were $5 a box, others said they’d still remain loyal. Luckily, only three states have announced an increase in price so far.
