Nutella Fans Are Raging Over A Recipe Change & I’m Not Mad, I’m Just Disappointed

Nutella fans, you’re not going to like this, but I’ll just go ahead and say it anyway— the brand is changing its recipe. (And no one is happy about it.)

CNN Money reports that Nutella took to its German Facebook page on Tuesday to say that the brand was “fine-tuning” its recipe, or basically a euphemistic way to say that more powdered milk has been added, increasing the spread’s total sugar content. The receipts can also be found on Nutella’s U.S. Twitter page, and as you can probably imagine, Twitter fans had something to say about it.

One Twitter user replied to an article posted on Twitter from Extra Crispy, informing readers of the change. The user wrote, “BOOOOOO how can quality not be compromised when ur increasing powder milk and sugar content. @NutellaUSA #disappointed Kroger’s version has less sugar!” to which Nutella responded, “our recipe underwent a fine-tuning and continues to deliver the Nutella fans know and love with high quality ingredients.”

“#Nutella is sweet enough. Why on earth change something that no one has a problem with?” wrote another Twitter user

While many took to Twitter to express their complaints on the recipe change, some users completely dragged the brand and questioned their motives behind the change.

Well, the fans have spoken, Nutella, and I’m not mad; I’m just disappointed. I was rooting for you, Nutella. WE WERE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU.
