Notorious RBG Has Law Clerks Lined Up Through 2020, So She’s Not Going Anywhere

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, also affectionately known as “Notorious RBG,” has officially lined up her law clerks through 2020, signaling that she is not going anywhere any time soon, CNN reports.

President Trump may have had hopes that the justice, who will have her 25th anniversary on the Supreme Court this year, would leave, but it looks like he will have to keep waiting.

According to The Huffington Post, Trump once said that Ginsburg’s “mind is shot.”

Ginsburg’s decision to stay is not unexpected.

According to CNN, if Hillary Clinton had won the election, Ginsburg probably would have announced her retirement this spring. Trump has also said that he expects Ginsburg to leave the Supreme Court while he is in office and he will replace her. However, Ginsburg has said that she will remain in her position as long as her breath holds, The Huffington Post reports.

Harvard law professor Laurence Tribe wrote on Twitter, “Great news: Justice Ginsburg has hired a full slate of law clerks through 2020. Take that, ‘stable genius’ Donald.”

The 84-year-old justice has battled and won two bouts of cancer, and has revealed that she has a very strict workout regimen, The Huffington Post reports.

Ginsburg, according to CNN, has spent most of her career fighting for women’s rights. According to The Huffington Post, at an event in September for first-year law students at Georgetown University, students asked Ginsburg why she dedicated her career to fighting gender equality issues.

“You mean, how did I decide to become a flaming feminist litigator?” Ginsburg replied.

So it looks like Notorious RBG is here to stay.
