If you’re anything like me, your Chipotle addiction is already out of hand – but get ready to spend even more of your life savings there, because the Mexican chain has announced that it is officially going to offer queso.
No, this is not a drill: USA Today reports that Chipotle debuted a bunch of new menu items Tuesday at its ‘Next Kitchen’ location in New York City – and queso is one of them. While it’s not available anywhere aside from their test location at the moment, if you’re in NYC, do us all a favor and go try some, because the restaurant has said that the popularity of queso at Next Kitchen will determine whether it becomes a permanent offering on the menu.
“Queso is something that’s been requested from us for many, many years. Pretty much since we started,” Chipotle Chief Marketing Officer Mark Crumpacker told USA Today. But of course, Chipotle wanted to make sure it offered one that met its no additives, preservatives or colors standards – and luckily they’ve finally found a recipe that fits the rules.
