This 13-Year-Old Girl Composed an Incredible Song Using Hillary Clinton’s Concession Speech

Following her defeat in the 2016 presidential election, Hillary Clinton delievered a concession speech addressed “all the little girls watching” to remind them to “never doubt that [they] are valuable and powerful and deserving of every chance and opportunity in the world.”

As part of an music theory class assignment at Sol La Music Academy in Santa Monica, the instructor, Mary Ann Cummins, gave the students an excerpt from Clinton’s speech and asked them to turn it into a song, The Huffington Post reports. The result was astounding.

13-year-old Isolde Fair composed a song with piano and strings based on Clinton’s speech, then recorded the results. According to the Huffington Post, the video features girls ages 8 to 19 playing instruments and singing the song, with Fair taking the lead. Fair wrote in the YouTube description, “The message is that all girls (and women) should never doubt that they are valuable and powerful and can have their dreams come true.”

Even Clinton herself saw the video and took to Twitter to praise the “inspiring song.”
