It's almost time for the Jane Kopas Women's Center to sponser their annual Love Your Body Day! Inspired by the national campaign, this day is set aside for the young women of Scranton to come together and address the pressing issue and affects of body image. This event strives to help young women understand the beauty of their own body and works towards promoting healthier body images and relationships.
From 11-2 on 2nd Floor DeNaples there will be stickers featuring the saying YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL and information regarding women's health for all who are interested. There will also be yoga offered for all interested participants in the Rose Room of Brennan Hall. Later on, from 7-9, there will be an Art Therapy event also offered in Brennan's Rose Room where women will be encouraged to reflect and then create a visual representation of themselves.
This is a wondeful day filled with many important events for young women. In today's society and on Scranton's campus and college campuses across the world, women face pressure regarding their bodies and what the 'social norm' demands that they look like. Whether you're comfortable in your skin or not, this is an event worth attending. Come and support your gender and show the world that you love your body - or that you're willing to learn how!
