The founder of Facebook made it “Facebook official” on his profile this weekend – Mark Zuckerberg is married!
Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Priscilla Chan in a small, intimate backyard ceremony at their home in Palo Alto, California on Saturday, according to People. It comes a day after Facebook’s historic stock offering.
According to a close source, the couple surprised their guests who thought they were coming over to a graduation party to celebrate her graduation from University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. In fact, the couple had been planning the wedding for four months and Zuckerberg had a simple ruby wedding ring designed for his bride. The guests dined on food from the couple's favorite sushi restaurant and mouse-shaped chocolates from Burdick Chocolate that they ate on their first date over nine years ago.
The two started dating as college sweethearts at Harvard and have kept their relationship mostly under wraps. What is known is that they adopted a Hungarian sheepdog named Beast a year ago and they live together in Palo Alto.
