There’s a Scientifically Proven Way to Make Pizza Healthier

This may be the answer to the dreaded Freshman 15! According to a recent study published in the American Journal of Physiology – Heart and Circulatory Physiology, performing quick, high-intensity exercise an hour before eating fatty foods can decrease the negative effects of those foods. As in, a way to make pizza healthier, right?!

That high-intensity part is no joke, though. Those who performed cycling at moderate intensity for 20 minutes did not see the same benefits as those who performed high intensity cycling for just eight minutes. Next time you’re thinking about reaching for that extra slice, all you need to do is a fast and intense eight-minute workout and you won’t pay for it later.

The main problem with fatty foods is that when you eat them, your blood pressure goes up and your heart must work harder to pump blood throughout your body. Years of bad food can set you up for heart disease and stroke. However, this new study shows that there could be an answer to preventing these negative effects.

Now our only question is, just how hard do we have to dance on a night out to justify those late-night chili cheese fries afterwards?
