The HC Team Weighs In: What We’re Thankful For This Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving collegiettes! As you get the turkey and potatoes ready, you’re naturally also thinking about what you’ve been thankful since last turkey day. Well so are we, and we wanted to share them with all of you today!

As always, share with us what you’re thankful for by leaving a comment below.

This year, I’m thankful to be attending my dream college for yet another year, filled with my best friends and a priceless education. I’m also thankful for my health and my family.
– Jen Morgan, Contributing Writer, Messiah College

I am thankful for the support of my parents from day one. As a senior, I am soon getting ready to enter the real world. They have been there to encourage me and remind me of my potential. College can be stressful and often times I can get down on myself, but I know a quick call or FaceTime conversation with my parents will always help. They have taught me how to be respectful, determined, appreciative, caring and fun loving through the examples they have set. Thanks mom and dad! You guys truly are my role models!
– Meghan Gibbons, Campus Correspondent, Boston College

I’m thankful for so many things this Thanksgiving. One, I am so thankful to have a loving and supportive (and completely awesome) family. I don’t know how I could manage life without them. I’m also thankful for my amazing friends who make every day so special and filled with fun and joy. Thirdly, I’m thankful for such a kind, sweet, caring, smart, and so totally amazing boyfriend, and to have been lucky enough to be his girlfriend for over three years now. I’m also thankful that I spend my days in peace, that I have a good life and enough money to both do what I want and give back, and that I have the opportunity to get a fantastic education. Lastly, I’m thankful that I get to work with such an amazing team at Her Campus! I can’t imagine working with a better group of people than everyone at Her Campus!
– Shira Kipnees, Campus Correspondent, Franklin and Marshall

I’m thankful for the supportive, beautiful friends in my life, both close to me and far away; for my wonderful family, who brings out the best in me; and for The Mindy Project, which manages to make me laugh even in times of the direst stress.
– Sophie van Bastelaer, Contributing Writer, McGill University

I am thankful for my health and family, but I’m also thankful for being given the opportunity to have founded the FIU chapter of Her Campus!
– Laura Hernandez, Campus Correspondent, FIU

I’m thankful for my family. As cliché as that sounds, this year has really shown me how permanent their support is. Oh, and puppies; I’m always thankful for puppies.
– Leah Kuttruff, Campus Correspondent, College of Charleston

– Asiana Smith, Campus Correspondent, Le Moyne College

Since going away to school 3 years ago, I’ve realized how incredible my family is! I know some of my friends and classmates aren’t as lucky to have such an amazing family so I am very thankful for them this year – and every day!
– Kathryn Saulinas, Campus Correspondent and Chapter Advisor, Bloomsburg University

This year, I’m especially thankful for the gift of education. Inside and outside of the classroom, I learn so many new things that help shape me into a better person.
– Marisa Tesoro, Contributing Writer, University of Missouri – Columbia

I’m thankful for family, friends, my puppy, and cookie butter (the best thing ever).
– Katie Sieger, Campus Correspondent, St. Olaf College

My loving family, fiancé, and the opportunity to intern at Seventeen Magazine this spring!
– Ashley Young, Campus Correspondent, West Virginia Wesleyan College

I am thankful for my family and my baby niece who I will be spending thanksgiving with for the first time this year!
– Alex Horvitz, Campus Correspondent/Beauty Blog Editor, Tufts University

I am thankful for my family and that we are so blessed with the opportunities we have been given. I’m a twin, so my parents have to pay for two different college tuitions at the same time. I don’t know how they do it but it has worked out so far. Also I have to opportunity to work on research related to childhood cancer next semester and I am thankful I have the opportunity to do that.
– Danielle Buchanan, Campus Correspondent, Eckerd College

I’m thankful that it is pomegranate season!
– Taylor Emhart, Campus Correspondent, University of Maine
