Les Mean Girls: A Tumblr Match Made in Heaven

So, what’s the difference between Les Miserables and Mean Girls?  One’s got Eddie Redmayne unconsciously swimming in sewage, and the other features Shane Oman in the projection room above the auditorium. But other than that, we’ve essentially got the same movie on our hands.

There are rebellions (the classic French revolution vs. high school girls gone wild), evil taking human form (“don’t be fooled because [Javert] and Regina George may seem like your typical selfish, back-stabbing slut faced ho-bag, but in reality, [they’re] so much more than that”), and musical backdrops (a dying Anne Hathaway and a rapping mathlete). While in Les Mis the characters try to overthrow the throne, in Mean Girls they attempt to take down the Queen Bee.  In reality, is there really a difference? Subtract a few French flags from the revolution in Paris and you’ve got yourself North Shore High School’s homecoming dance circa the 1830s—everyone wants a piece of the crown!

So, without further ado, we introduce you to Les Mean Girls: a tumblr that proves, no matter who you are and where you may be, you can never escape the hierarchy of high school without a grand revolution…or a big, yellow school bus.

Below are some of our favorite memes from the site, but if you’re looking for more, click here to check out the laugh-out-loud tumblr for yourself!
