George Clooney’s New Wife Amal Alamuddin Stole the Show on Their Wedding Weekend

George Clooney wed Amal Alamuddin this weekend in Venice, Italy, and as expected, it was a glamorous, star-studded event we only wish we could’ve snuck into.

Though we don’t know Alamuddin very well, we can tell we already love her (and thus approve of the union!). For starters, she’s a real smarty pants, and we admire that! Alamuddin is an Oxford-educated lawyer who specializes in international law and human rights. Her clients have even included WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange! Secondly, she’s beautiful! Her eyebrows are to die for. Oh, and she also speaks fluent French and Arabic, so no big deal, she’s not a superwoman.

But then there’s also her immaculate fashion sense. George Clooney may be the reason Hollywood is swooning over this wedding and all, but Amal is the one who stole the show leading up to the big day (and not just because she was the bride)!

Though we don’t have any word on the gown she wore to the couple’s actual wedding ceremony (sigh), we have plenty of her pre-nuptial and post-nuptial outfits on which to feast our eyes!

The night before the big day, Alamuddin stepped out with friends and family in a spectacular Alexander McQueen piece. The scarlet red V-neck dress was the perfect combination of edgy and feminine with the long train, capped sleeves and black, feather-like pattern lightly splashed across it. The McQueen dress was actually from the designer’s Resort 2011 collection, so that just goes to show she doesn’t need the latest season’s styles to look amazing!

Earlier in the weekend, she flaunted a stunning black-and-white-striped Dolce & Gabbana empire waist dress. Between her big black shades and the large hat box she toted, Amal seriously looked like Grace Kelly, only brunette.

On Sunday, Amal wore an even more stunning dress (as if that were possible) by Giambattista Valli Couture. The long-sleeved, creamy lace dress had a bubble-like shape, bearing her jealousy-inducing toned legs. Delicate red and purple flowers were embroidered over most of the dress, adding the perfect pop of color for a blushing bride.

If the course of their relationship is any indication of their married life together, Amal and George are going to live happily ever after. The lovebirds are two intelligent class acts (and stylish ones at that), and though we’re still sad that we didn’t get an invite to the wedding, we wish them all the best!
