12 Theories We Have About the ‘Bad Blood’ Music Video

From the cinematic projections in “Style” to intense car-smashing outside of a mansion in “Blank Space,” the music videos for Taylor Swift’s 1989 singles have begun to look more like mini-movies than music videos. It appears that the video for her latest single, “Bad Blood,” is going even beyond the expectations set by her previous videos. In fact, it is more than likely going to be the most star-studded movie of the summer, and it’s not even going to be in theaters.

The video, which is sure to be life-changing, will premiere at the Billboard Music Awards on May 17. Leading up to the premiere, Miss Swift has been teasing fans on social media with movie-style character posters promoting the release.

Taylor has turned a handful of her super famous friends into super villains to star alongside her. Although the cast features everyone from Victoria’s Secret Angels to Disney Stars, one celebrity who will definitely not be making a cameo is fellow pop star and nemesis, Katy Perry. Last year in an interview with Rolling Stone, Swift hinted that the single was written about Perry: “For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, ‘Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?”

Apparently the falling out was not even about their shared ex, John Mayer, but about malicious business tactics. She told Rolling Stone, “She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. I’m surprisingly non-confrontational—you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It’s awkward, and I don’t like it.”

Here are the 12 celebrities (so far!) who will be starring in the video and our theories about how T-Swift will throw the ultimate shade at her rival.

1. Taylor Swift as Catastrophe

CATastrophe? A cat fight will more than likely take place and knowing Taylor that could be both literal and figurative. Should we be expecting a character poster for Olivia and Meredith soon?

2. Lily Aldridge as Frostbyte

The Victoria’s Secret Angel will probably assist Tay in freezing out her enemies, stopping them in their tour-sabotaging tracks, and making their “blood run cold.”

3. Zendaya as Cut-Throat

That knife? That side-eye? The slayage will be real (literally). Zendaya probably makes those really deep cuts that Taylor was talking about…

4. Hayley Williams as The Crimson Curse

The fiery, red hair is symbolic of Taylor’s desire to “burn” her rival with her witty zingers and lyrical shade.

5. Gigi Hadid as Slay-Z

Gigi and Taylor are probably going to embrace their inner rappers and come up with a freestyle that will put Jay-Z himself to shame and make even Kanye regret his Grammy’s incident.

6. Ellie Goulding as Destructa X

The theory that band-aids don’t fix bullet holes might be put to the test.

7. Hailee Steinfeld

Hailee plays good cop, bad cop, and whatever cop that Taylor had to answer to for smashing that guy’s car in the “Blank Space” video.

8. Lena Dunham as Lucky Fiori

The ironic name, unamused look, and cigar point towards Lena’s role as the head of T-Swift’s villainous operations.

9. Kendrick Lamar as Welvin Da Great

Da Great? Is there possibly a good guy among these fierce femme fatales?

10. Karlie Kloss as Knockout

Miss Kloss takes being a bombshell to a whole other level. As Taylor’s BFF, naturally Karlie would be ready to take down and well, knock out anyone who messes with her bestie.

11. Serayah as Dilemma

Serayah looks dressed to kill which would definitely serve as a dilemma for Taylor’s enemies.

12. Jessica Alba as Domino

Jessica has people falling for her on a daily basis so we are assuming that as Domino her already superhuman beauty is going to act as a way to lure enemies in and then trip them up.

Tune in to the Billboard Awards to see Taylor once again be a nightmare dressed like a daydream!
