We are now accepting applications for ScreenPrism's Summer 2017 Editorial Intern Program. This is a highly selective university-level position for talented writers interested in significantly developing their skills in analyzing and writing about cinema and television.
Participants will have the opportunity to write scripts for an exciting new form of visual essay, exploring deeper insights about Film & TV. Writing for video essays involves thinking in a sophisticated way about cinema and TV episodes and matching an intelligent, engaging narration with specified clips that demonstrate the writer's argument. Selected candidates will be assigned an average of 2 scripts per week. Some writing may be completed remotely, and there will be weekly meetings during office hours in order to receive feedback, further instruction, and guidance. Candidates will also be expected to carry out some administrative tasks and assistance to our editorial team.
Participants will get exposure to real-world applications of video editing in a professional digital media environment. They will see their work published on far-reaching distribution platforms. They may also have opportunities to see advance screenings of new releases or restoration screenings of Film Classics in NY that arise during the program.
