Medford, Boston

The in-house editorial group of Wiley is offering an Editor position based in our Medford, MA office for its portfolio of protocols journals in the life sciences.

Applicants for the position should have a broad interest in scientific publishing and communication, with a PhD in a molecular life sciences field. He/she should be self-motivated, have excellent organizational and communication skills (written and verbal), be diplomatic, and flexible. Postdoctoral experience and/or previous publishing experience would be advantageous.

Develop, commission, and edit content, and in conjunction with editorial boards, ensure the scientific quality of all manuscripts for assigned titles. 
Manage the peer-review process for the articles submitted to our protocol journals
Build networks with authors and editors from all over the world.


Ph.D. in the molecular life science fields and adjacent disciplines. 
Strong negotiation/interpersonal skills to interact effectively with editors, authors, and noted scientific authorities.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Curious, inquisitive mind and broad interest in science communication.
General knowledge of publishing, including editing and peer review.
Someone who is highly motivated and achievement-oriented.
Familiarity with social media tools and excellent command of the English language. 
Authorization to live and work in the United States. 


Experience in many different aspects of publishing, such as the acquisition and development of journal content, production and author marketing, and contact with authors and referees from all over the world.
