Amour Vert, a growing sustainable fashion company, is seeking a motivated and dynamic Merchandise Planner to support our direct to customer channels. The Merchandise Planner is responsible for using rigorous sales and inventory analysis to drive insightful, quantitative-based product decisions. He/She will analyze the business from line plan stage through to allocation, at the department, category, style, and SKU levels, and proactively communicate results to the Product team. The Merchandise Planner is also responsible for managing the creation and maintenance of all style information and orders in system, for each delivery. Based on interest and aptitude, additional Merchandising/Buying-focused projects and responsibilities may be assigned.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Weekly Product Selling Reports at the Department/Category/Style level to drive re-order/chase actions, or the cancellation/reduction of future orders
  • Weekly Allocation Reports at the Style/SKU level to drive replenishment & transfer actions (partner with the Allocation team to execute replen)
  • Monthly forecasting and replenishment of Core styles
  • Monthly Markdown Analysis to guide markdown (new & furthers) & transfer actions
  • Quarterly Sizing Sales Analysis to guide size breakdowns
  • Quarterly Department/Classification Sales Analysis to guide line plan
  • Support in-season analysis as needed
  • Quarterly Recommendations for Nordstrom Rack

System Management of Styles & Orders

  • Own product setup of all new styles
  • Enter all Orders in Apparel Magic System for all DTC Channels for each delivery
  • Adjust Orders in System as needed based on current sales/inventory/production situation

Marketing, E-Commerce & Customer Service

  • Create Shot Lists for Biweekly Web Shoots based on assortment. Partner with Warehouse, Production, and Design to collect photo shoot samples
  • Partner weekly with Customer Service to manage "out of stock" requests
  • Partner weekly with Ecommerce to manage "out of stock" on website

Requirements:

  • Analytic Skills: Ability to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data
  • Financial and Business Acumen: Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information to drive results; proficiency in retail math
  • Problem Solving & Decision Quality: Able to use rigorous logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions
  • Influencing & Negotiation: Can present ideas and directions that lead others to action
  • Systems and Tools Acumen: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and have aptitude to learn technical applications quickly
  • Collaboration: Able to build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrate strong listening, written and oral communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 1-2 years work experience in a retail company preferred
