Pretty in Pink: Shop to Support Breast Cancer Awareness
Did you know October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month?
Over 200,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer and almost 40,000 of those women will die from the disease, according to this year’s estimates by the American Cancer Society. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States other than skin cancer, and the chance of a woman having invasive breast cancer some time during her life is a little less than 1 in 8. That’s why this month it’s so important to show your support for these women whose lives have been touched by breast cancer. And what better way to do that than to go shopping?
What we mean is, shopping for “pink products” that support raising the awareness of breast cancer. Here at HC, we’ve rounded up some of the best pink products out there. So do your collegietteTM charitable duty this month: show your support with these stylish promo products!

Biography
Alexandra Churchill is a journalism student from the University of New Hampshire. She's worked as the Director of UNH’s Student Press Organization (SPO) and on staff for four student publications on her campus including the twice-weekly newspaper, The New Hampshire, the student lifestyle magazine, Main Street Magazine, the literary journal, Aegis, and the creative nonfiction journal, Sandpaper. In the summer of 2010, she studied abroad at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge University, in England where she drank afternoon tea, rode the Tube, but sadly no, she did not meet Prince Harry. Her professional work has taken her from reporting as an intern for The Telegraph and blogging as both editorial intern and national contributing writer for Her Campus. She's eagerly chased down stories from travel blogging about Will and Kate’s Canadian tour to interviewing the neighbors of J.D. Salinger in rural New Hampshire after his death. When not in the office, she can be found perusing travel magazines to plan her next road trip, reading up on the day's news in pop culture, or practicing ballet. Her post-graduation plans include traveling the world and pursuing a career in journalism, latte (and pen) in hand. You can follow her via Twitter @allie_churchill.
