Lose the Freshman 15: Spoiler Alert…You Already Have A Beach Body!

Summer is so close I can taste it, and it’s making me positively giddy. What is better than summer? The sun is out, responsibilities float away, the beach starts calling your name, then you’re forced to feel inadequate because someone, somewhere started the rumor that summer is synonymous with Bikini Season and you can only enjoy Bikini Season if you look like a Victoria’s Secret Angel—

Wait. How come I have to go through this every year? It is seriously one of my biggest pet peeves about summer. In the days and weeks leading up to what should be the best season of the year, negative body talk is everywhere. There’s no escaping talk of bikini bodies or racks of cute dresses and skirts, and inevitably, your own thoughts that maybe your body isn’t up to par for the season.

Well, stop!  

Whether you’re already enjoying summer or looking forward to it, make a vow now that how you enjoy these next few months won’t depend on how you’re feeling about your body. So, you didn’t lose as much weight as you wanted to by the time school got out. So what? Wear shorts. Go swimming. Frolic around. Sunbathe (safely)! Spin around in dresses. Enjoy yourself, and if you start worrying, remember this:
