Lose the Freshman 15: My very last formal

My nails are done, my hair is done and everything is did (I’m fancy, duh) and I’m ready for Pi Kappa Alpha Formal!

My boyfriend, Max, is taking me to his fraternity’s formal at the Wit in downtown Chicago. He’s graduating this May, which means tonight, our last formal, is going to be full of many vodka water limes — with actual limes since my friend told me the lime juice bartenders typically use is full of sugar. Since the Jump Start plan only requires that I do cardio five times each week, I picked today as one of my skip days, but I’m hoping I’ll still get a lot of cardio on the dance floor.

After my small ice milk and thin mint setback yesterday, I was hoping to do a little better today. For breakfast, I had two egg whites and for lunch, I had a Portillo’s chop salad. Since a normal chop salad is packed with sneaky calories, I ordered it sans bacon and noodles. The standard Portillo’s portion is also way too big, so I took about 3 cups worth, put it in a separate bowl and mixed in the teensiest bit of house dressing. I can’t come home without visiting Portillo’s, so this gave me the fill I needed, without the guilt.

While my breakfast and lunch were pretty healthy, dinner might be a different story. Max told me some sort of chicken dish is being served at formal and I’m hoping it isn’t too bad for me. I wont know until it’s in front of me, but I’m assuming it will be prepared with some absurd amount of butter and served with a form of vegetable or starch packed with sodium. I will probably have to trade part of my meal for some of Max’s salad, but he likes me so it shouldn’t be a problem.

I’m so excited for all of the fun I’m going to have tonight, and I’m also excited because I’m going to look pretty good in my dress. In less than a week, I’ve seen substantial results and I can’t wait until weigh-in on Monday! When have you ever heard a girl say that?

Dancing the night away with some of my favorite people,
