Here’s What Happened When I Replaced ALL My Drinks with Hint Water

By now, we all know that pounding back three lattes during your 8 a.m. lecture and sipping a sugary soda before lunch is not conducive to a healthy life, and yet we find ourselves doing it anyway. On an average week, I probably drink coffee, diet soda, kombucha, tea, seltzer––literally anything––more than I drink plain water because I can’t stand the boring taste of raw H2O. While I feel very #aesthetic carrying around my cold brew, the extra calories, sugar, GMOs and animal products aren’t doing anything wonderful for me.

This week, I decided it was time to do an experiment and see if I would wean myself off coffee and soda with a good-for-you alternative: hint water®.

Hint was founded by a total girl boss.

Hint water came about in 2005 when Kara Goldin, formerly the Vice President of Shopping at AOL, realized she was addicted to Diet Coke and needed to make a positive change for her health. She cut soda from her routine, then went in search of a sugar-free flavor water alternative only to discover that no such drink existed. So, Kara went home, boiled some fruit skins and water together in a natural recipe that ended in the creation of hint.

I knew that drinking hint would be the best alternative for me because of the calorie-free, natural contents, and because the plain water flavor is masked by fruit. Plus, a self-proclaimed soda addict literally found it to be the perfect replacement, so how could I not buy into the hype?

It’s, like, the healthiest thing you’ve ever drank.

I picked up a $15 variety pack with watermelon, pineapple, cherry and blackberry flavors. On top of being a legitimately delicious beverage, hint has zero calories, zero fake diet sweeteners, zero preservatives, and it’s vegan and gluten free. This drink is even Whole 30 approved, so you know hint is pure AF since nothing even remotely artificial gets past that program. There’s nothing sketchy about it!

Drinking hint majorly changed my day.

After one day of replacing all my usual beverages with hint water, I definitely noticed a change. Usually with my old drinks, I felt caffeinated––but still sluggish and weighed down because of how unhealthy they were. Sometimes drinking coffee would actually make me thirstier because my body craved water so bad.

With just a day of hint, I felt legitimately hydrated and like I was still getting a treat because of the delicious fruit flavor. By the end of the day my energy level was high, and I didn’t feel like I needed a nap just to make it through dinner. The addiction is real.

I definitely suggest hint water as an alternative to anyone trying to break their bad habits––and because friends don’t let friends drink boring water, use the exclusive code HERCAMPUS when you order hint online today to get a discount at checkout. You up?
