10 Margarita & Taco Pairings Made for Cinco de Mayo

Cinco de Mayo is coming up real quick, and if you’re lucky, that means celebrating with tacos and margaritas! In case you didn’t know, Cinco de Mayo is the Mexican holiday that commemorates Mexico’s unlikely victory over French forces in a 1862 battle—it’s not their Independence day, though it is often mistaken for such. These taco and margarita pairings are the perfect way to celebrate.

1. Mini Mango and Beef Short Rib Tacos + Mini Margarita

Yum. Also, we need these cactus shot glasses, stat.

2. Mini Lobster Tacos + Hibiscus Margaritas

If you’re not down with the mini foods—which are cute but might leave you hungry—go ahead and make yourself a huge margarita and a big taco. You deserve it.

3. Watermelon Jalapeno Margarita + Arrachero Taco

This sounds like the perfect pairing: the fresh watermelon jalapeno margarita with a fancy spin on the classic taco.

4. Grapefruit and Pineapple Margarita + Pineapple Chicken Tacos

This dish will transport you straight to Cancun! Tropical, fun and super delicious.

5. Crispy Margarita Tacos + Strawberry Avocado Salsa

Margarita tacos? What? Two great tastes in one dish—now that’s the way to do it!

6. BBQ Chicken Tostadas + Sweet Jalapeno Margarita Salsa

Not only do these tacos look amazing, they also sound delish! Barbeque chicken is always a winner in our book.

7. Roasted Chickpea and Cauliflower Tacos + Patron Margaritas

Guacamole on everything, please. Also, roasted chickpeas add lots of protein to your meal! You’re welcome.

8. Mini Jack Daniel’s BBQ Pulled Pork Tacos + Margarita Shots

How cute are these mini tacos and margarita shots? You could even make blended marg shots, mostly because those are better.

9. Chipotle Lime Shrimp Tacos + Strawberry Margaritas

We could drink roughly 400 strawberry margaritas right now. Sorry, work week, school or any other responsibilities we may have.

10. Carne Asada Tacos + Mango Passion Fruit Margaritas

How pretty is this meal? We want carne asada tacos ASAP.

What are you eating (and/or drinking) to celebrate Cinco de Mayo?
