Why Choose UCF?
"UCF is a great school for so many reasons! Despite the fact that it's a very populated university, it somehow still always feels like a home. Us Knights are a tight packed family."
"I knew UCF was my home the minute I stepped on campus. The amazing facilities and beautiful campus make it feel like a resort instead of a University."
"Since I'm from up north, UCF was an easy yes because not only are there palm trees everywhere, but everyone is really nice and I can find any group to fit in with."
"UCF really stands for opportunity! The school works with the business community in the Orlando area and really tries to connect students with their careers."
"Even though I got into all the schools in Florida, UCF had everything I could ask for and more. I always brag about how nice my college is and compared to others, we really have it all."
"UCF has the best facilities when it comes to leisure activities. The gym, pool, IM fields and courts are all so nice!"
"I can't get over how much the UCF pool and gym are actually like a resort. There is SO much to do!"
"Since UCF tech. is top of the line, we have an entire lab of Mac computers and a lounge called the Technology Commons. It rules."
"Have you seen Greek Row!? The houses are gorgeous and everything is all in one place on campus. It's one big circle so you don't have to drive all over the place if you don't want to."
"Lake Claire is one of my favorite spots on campus. We have kanoes and paddle boards that you can rent out and a mini beach with picnic tables and volleyball courts. Every day I can't believe that this is my college."
"Parking! Since UCF is so big, parking is almost impossible if you live off campus and have classes at the prime times."
"The only negative thing I can say is that parking is absolutely horrible and traffic off campus on Alafaya is not fun at rush hour."
"Lecture classes make it really hard to connect with professors if you came from a small high school. 300+ in one class is overwhelming!"
"Not that this can be improved, but you can be walking to class and suddenly a sheet of rain will be coming at you. Sitting in class soaked to the core is not fun. Always carry an umbrella!"
"Meeting with an advisor can sometimes be a pain. At the end of the day they are willing to help, but you definitely have to keep bugging them."
New Collegiette on Campus
"It is really easy to become involved as a first year at UCF. During orientation you get to meet a lot of the club presidents and they encourage you to get involved!"
"There are so many great dorms to choose from on campus. Some of them are really nice, others are okay. But a lot of really awesome amenities are offered, like the Leisure Pool."
"First year students can earn Link Loot by attending UCF sponsored events. The more Link Loot you collect, the greater chance you have to win awesome prizes like cameras and laptops!"
"I feel like it's easy to get to know upperclassman at UCF. A lot of the classes have a variety of people in them, from freshman to super seniors. I didn't feel like I was forced to just hang out with my own class."
"Everyone at UCF is really welcoming. The O-Team guides you through orientation and not only gives you an awesome tour of campus but they give you insider tips too!"
All About Academics
"There are a ton of majors to choose from at UCF. I wasn't interested in the event management major and it was incredibly easy to find something else I was interested in studying."
"As much as everyone hates going to the library, the librarians are always willing to help you out with a research project. Just don't wait until the last minute. They get cranky if you try to rush them."

Learn From The Best
"The professors at UCF are willing to help you but you have to be willing to go to them. Visit their office hours. It might seem daunting at first but it will definitely benefit your final grade in the class."
"Rate My Professor can be a great tool but don't rely on it entirely. Use it as a reference. But I've taken professors with terrible ratings only to end up loving them by the end of the semester."
"A lot of professors at UCF are doing research in their field of study. Sounds boring but this means that you are going to learn only the recent, most relevant information about the class they are teaching. It's really cool to see these developments in knowledge happen in real time."
