Why Choose Georgia Southern?
"I chose Georgia Southern University because I wanted the feel of a campus and to not be too close to home, but at the same time close enough home to get there in case of emergency."
"Georgia Southern is a school I came to because I have a scholarship and wanted to stay in-state."
"I came here because my older siblings came here and it was somewhat of like a legacy for me to come here."

"I like how we don't have to use coins for laundry and that it is included in our student fees."
"Organization and Communication need to be at the forefront which is a great example when it comes to the SDRC (Student Disability Resource Center) and test taking. Their policies are not as detailed as they should be."
“I like what they had last year; there were more places to eat like Einstein’s and Cold Stone so now there not a lot of options.”
“I don’t think the food is worth that much money but the dining dollars are good but it’s still not worth it.”
"I wish they would bring back the old dining plan options."
"I don't like how the buses are always overcrowded on rainy days."
New Collegiette on Campus
“Come to college with an open mind, don’t be afraid of this new change in your life just ACCEPT it; make new friends and have great experiences! You’re in college now!”"SOAR was very fun for orientation. It's a place where you can meet your first potential friends on campus.""Although you are required to stay on campus if you stay in places like Centennial and Eagle Village your place feels like your own real apartment.""The upperclassmen will try to use you for your meal plans. Lol don't give them to them!!""This is my first year here and I am so far in love with everything about Georgia Southern. Hands down the best school to attend in Georgia."
All About Academics
“It’s always best to keep all your classes organized, you don’t want to walk into class one day and FORGET you had a test!”
"I like that the classes are big enough for you to meet new people, but at the same time small enough that you can actually get to know your teacher"
"The workload isn't extremely difficult depending on your professor. You just have to buckle down and get to the books."
"Most people study at the library because during the week it is 24 hours so you can go in there whatever time you like."
"Most buildings have study room that you can reserve and they are really helpful during exam time."
Learn From The Best
"Take Dr. Jamie Wilson. She's fun to listen to and she makes psychological stats an enjoyable subject. If you need help on anything, she's available during office hours and she suggests using the Peer Mentoring Center for outside help."
"Dr. Groover Rocks. Straightforward and everything is so easy. Need the book for online quizzes and tests. Lots of work but do it and you'll get an A. Think I finished off the class with around a 95. Group projects are a pain, but worth it to have Groover!"
"Mr. Woody was a good professor! He was the type of professor that what you put in you get out. His class was interesting to me. You took a crossword quiz on vocab in your groups every friday. There was even times when he cancelled class on friday:) I got a B!"
"Take Michelle Cawthorn for Bio she is extremely easy and laid back. She also understands if you miss a deadline and is likely to open the assignment back up if you're honest and nice to her. "
"I've had Dr. Alice Hall for 4 classes: Middle Childhood, Parenting, Diversity, and Teaching Preschool. She has always been extremely nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. The lower level classes are EXTREMELY easy as long as you go to class and participate. Teaching Preschool was a harder, but its a 4000 level class so get over it."
Interests and Involvement
"It is fairly easy to become a member in clubs. Make sure to find the one that is perfect for you and make the best of it!"
“I love extracurricular activities! I was in so many while I was in high school! But once I got to college I filled my plate way too much and noticed I didn’t have time for ANYTHING”

"There is definitely a divide when it comes to students and athletes in the academic sense. They get so many "freebies" it is honestly ridiculous."
"I don't really pay attention to sports, but my boyfriend does and he loves our sporting teams. So I guess they are pretty good."
"It is very important while in college to find a great group of friends. You need friends who are fun but will also hold you accountable for your actions, as well as, your academics."
