While Gina Rodriguez won’t be rewearing her award show wardrobe any time soon, some lucky fans might get the chance to steal the actress’s red carpet style.
It all started when fan Jessica Casanova tweeted Rodriguez, begging to wear the actress’s Golden Globes dress to her prom. She never expected the Jane the Virgin star to reply, but to her surprise, Rodriguez tweeted back saying, “maybe we can make this happen.”
The dress in discussion gives new meaning to little black dress. The beautiful Badgley Mischka gown Rodriguez wore when she won the 2015 Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Comedy Series—and gave that unforgettable acceptance speech—is probably the chicest prom dress any girl could imagine.
Rodriguez and Casanova ended the public Twitter thread with a promise from the actress to reach out personally. Other fans caught on and tweeted their desire to borrow the dress for their own upcoming events. That’s when one fan suggested the best idea ever: “Sisterhood of the Traveling Gina Golden Globes Dress.” And Rodriguez was all for it!

It’s incredible that these fans have a chance to borrow a designer dress from one of their favorite celebrities. Let’s just say we wish we had that option when we were getting ready for prom.
