Since Pokémon Go was launched, the game has achieved a level of popularity that no one was expecting. In fact, Nintendo’s stock increased 25 percent following the game’s launch. If that’s not a testament to its success, we don’t know what is. Although the game is particularly popular among young people, kids and adults have been joining in. Admit it—you’ve probably stepped out of your house with several portable chargers, just to make sure you catch ’em all without your phone dying.
Considering the success, we’re not surprised that the Pokémon franchise is looking to capitalize even further—with a Pokémon movie. Now, all our Pokémon dreams are coming true because a film based on the characters you love is indeed happening! This is us right now:
The movie won’t begin filming until next year, but we’ve already got a few deets about what to expect. First, the live-action film will be led by Legendary Entertainment and the Pokémon Company. According to Variety, the movie will also focus on a relatively new character, Detective Pikachu. All other details regarding the movie are super secret as of now, but we can only hope that more will be revealed once production commences.
