In our society, everyone loves a good romance rumor. Katy Perry and Ryan Phillippe? Done. Taylor Swift and literally everyone? Done. If you are a celebrity, it is more likely than not that you will be accused, at least once in your life, of dating someone who you are just friends with.

Recently, rumors have been spreading like wildfire that the “Pitch Perfect” singer and actress is dating none other than bad boy Justin Bieber. After photos of the pair facetime surfaced online, the internet just decided that obviously, they are dating. Like, WHAT ELSE COULD IT MEAN?! (Cough cough, maybe friendship?)
But, before it could go any further, Steinfeld shut the rumors down this morning on the Morning Mash Up on SiriusXM, according to Teen Vogue. “I don’t know why people make such a big deal. We’re friends, we’ve been friends for years,” she said.
Well, good to know that boys and girls can be just friends without people thinking they are dating… Kidding, that’s not a thing yet. One can only hope.
