If live-tweeting Game of Thrones is basically your second job, get ready for a little time off this week. “The Spoils of War,” set to air Sunday, Aug. 6 on HBO, will not only be the shortest episode of the season, but also of the entire series. Showrunner David Benioff told Entertainment Weekly that this week’s episode will last approximately 50 minutes, as opposed to the usual 60.
If that hurts like a knife to the heart, you’ll be happy to know this season will also feature GoT’s longest episode ever. That’s right—Benioff promised it would be somewhere between 80 and 90 minutes long, surpassing last season’s finale by about 20 minutes.
Tbh, I’m just hoping Ed Sheeran makes another surprise appearance.
