Sarah Drew is Already the Lead On a New Show After the Heartbreaking News She's Leaving 'Grey's Anatomy'

Last week, Grey's Anatomy fans were heartbroken to find out that two longtime cast members — Sarah Drew and Jessica Capshaw — would be leaving after this season. While April Kepner and Arizona Robbins will certainly be missed, Drew won't be absent from TV screens for too long.

According to Deadline, the actress has landed a leading role in the upcoming CBS reboot of the 1980s police series Cagney and Lacey

Drew will star as Cagney alongside Michelle Hurd, who's been cast as Lacey. The two will both be LAPD detectives.

Drew issued a statement about her upcoming departure from the ABC show last week, expressing her gratitude to the fans she developed over the course of nine seasons.

There's no word on a premiere date for Cagney and Lacey, but I'll sure be counting down the days as soon as this season of Grey's ends.
