A Revival of ‘The Office’ Is in the Works, but There’s a Catch

One of the biggest trends in television today is reviving a classic TV series that was beloved by all (Gilmore Girls and Will and Grace, anyone?). Some aren’t a fan of these revivals, calling for more original programing, but there’s just something comforting about watching your favorite characters in all new episodes. And while we may never get a Friends revival, another NBC classic may be brought back soon.

According to US Weekly, NBC is looking to revive The Office in the 2018-2019 TV season.  The new season, “would be set at Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton, Pennsylvania, branch and include a mix of new and old cast members.”

There is a catch though: Steve Carell will not be returning as lovable goof, Michael Scott, and The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that there is a search underway to find a new actor to step into the role of regional manager.

I’m seriously hoping all of these reports are true. The Will and Grace reboot has been fantastic, and I’m sure a revival of The Office would bring NBC even more viewers and accolades. And honestly, who wouldn’t want to see what happened to all of our favorite characters? I would love to see Jim and Pam’s family five years after the finale! And what has Dwight been up to? Are Kelly and Ryan still together? Let’s hope all of these questions are answered if and when The Office returns to NBC.
