Ultimately, which celebrities you stan can break up friendships—because nobody wants to stay friends with someone who doesn’t stan Zendaya. Thankfully, there are a few things that virtually everyone can stan. After all, the Disney Channel is basically a universal fandom. While Lizzie McGuire (i.e. Hilary Duff) helped us revitalize our obsession with the Disney Channel last year, this new promo for the channel is making us feel extra nostalgic.
As E! News reports, this new Disney Channel Promo video basically recaps our favorite Disney stars. While the video incorporates some series footage, it also include some adorable outtakes. (Also, this throwback video just reminded us that Cole and Dylan Sprouse need to star in another production together, ASAP.)
The clip features a plethora of Disney Channel stars, including Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Hilary Duff, Selena Gomez, Cole Sprouse, Dylan Sprouse, the cast of Descendants 2, the Jonas Brothers, Madison Hu, and the cast of Stuck in the Middle. (Just to name a few.)
Nevertheless, it seems as though this promo video was meant as a way to celebrate the Disney Channel’s 35th anniversary, which is today, April 18. Beyond proving that it’s totally acceptable for you to give yourself a present on your birthday, it has us wondering what captivating shows Disney Channel will produce 35 years from now.
Though Disney Channel launched in 1983 (with a rather retro vibe nonetheless), the channel has curated binge-worthy television shows before binge-watching was a universal way to procrastinate hobby. As Disney Channel is gearing up to create a live-action Kim Possible movie, we can’t help but hope that a reboot of The Proud Family is on the horizon.
Aside from celebrity, the channel’s noteworthy accomplishment over the past 35 years, the whole video is basically just a yearbook of all the past and present Disney Channel stars. While we don’t know what we did to deserve this video, we’re so glad that Disney Channel reminded us just how much we love Disney.
