It’s nice to know that parents are still parents, even when their daughter is a celebrity. After the latest episode of This Is Us, Mandy Moore’s parents weren’t too happy at how her character, Rebecca, handled her relationship drama.
In the episode, we see glimpses of problems in Rebecca and Jack’s marriage amidst a flashback to their wedding. Despite the serious nature of the episode, it’s hard not to crack a smile at Mandy’s parents’ passive-aggressive texts. We get those, too—all the time.
First, her mother points out, “Hopefully [Rebecca] is made to look better in future episodes.” Then her dad chimes in, “You are so mean…after Jack was so sweet and romantic, you tell him about the tour…your timing was awful.”
Thankfully, Moore doesn’t seem bothered. “Mom and dad know how to keep it real,” she wrote in her caption. “Thanks guys?” Appropriate response.
At least she hasn’t spoiled them on the plot—it’s throwing them for a loop as much as us. Good to know we’re not the only ones mad at Rebecca.
