Lauren Graham & Alexis Bledel Weigh In On That ‘Gilmore Girls’ Renewal Buzz

If you’re an avid lover of Gilmore Girls and hoping for another visit to Stars Hollow, you might not want to get too excited. I know, I’m crying too, but Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham just crushed every ounce of hope I had.

At an Emmys-themed event on Sunday, TVLine got the scoop from the two actresses, and we’re suddenly feeling like the Gilmore Girls cast will never reunite on-screen again.

“If it all existed in a vacuum, I would play that character until my dying day… Now it’s become what could we do with this story that is satisfying, that is worth continuing,” Graham said. “I don’t know if there is a need to do more. I wouldn’t want it to feel like we overstayed our welcome.”

Bledel added that it depends on the story. “I’m just interested in telling a story that is dynamic and that I can hook into,” she said.

Ouch. Sit down, Ted Sarandos. Your leading ladies might not be on board. The Netflix chief content officer said in March that the streaming service was already in talks with creator Amy Sherman-Palladino about more episodes and the hope was to continue the series.

Oh, I hope he convinces Alexis and Lauren that it’s all worth it. Will we see more Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life? I guess we’ll just have to sit tight and see.
