Lauren Conrad is Returning to MTV

Believe it or not, it’s been 10 years since The Hills aired on MTV. If that realization doesn’t hit you right in the feels, we have some news that is guaranteed to make any OG fan ecstatic. After years of entertaining us with all the juicy gossip and drama that made The Hills so popular among young people, Lauren Conrad has confirmed that you’ll be seeing her back on MTV this summer!

A few days ago, Lauren posted a photo on Instagram, showing fans a behind-the-scenes snippet of her everyday life—just designing beautiful bridesmaid dresses, you know.

Never thought I’d see the day….

Seems like no big deal, right? What made fans suspicious was the fact that the camera man in the picture has a sticker on his equipment that is labeled with an MTV tag. Now, after being held in suspense, Lauren has finally announced that she is in fact returning to MTV for a Hills anniversary special! In addition to tweeting about the good news, Lauren took to her website to give fans an idea of what to expect from the TV special and why she chose to do this in the first place.

“I spent a lot of time thinking about how I would like to honor this anniversary and in the end, I just wanted to do something as a thank you to the fans,” Lauren writes. And since Lauren was feeling nostalgic, she decided to take a trip down memory lane by re-watching the very first episode of The Hills. “Looking back, I am grateful for the incredible opportunity we were given to take part in this show. While it was hard at times to share my personal life (poor makeup choices and all) with the world; the experience taught me so much and forever altered my life and my outlook for the better,” she says.

Since Lauren wanted to honor the show’s anniversary, she decided to team up with MTV for a special, which will be airing in early August. “We will be having an honest conversation about what it was really like living with cameras for so many years (spoiler alert: it was super weird), sharing some behind-the-scene secrets, and showing some of my life today.”

Because Lauren is determined to make this the best anniversary special ever, she is also encouraging fans to provide their input and let her know what they’d be interested in hearing about.

Mark your calendars for August 2 at 10 p.m.—you’re not going to want to miss this!
