Katy Perry & Taylor Swift Could Be Rekindling Their Friendship

Leave it to Katy Perry to throw a pre-Grammys party we totally wish we were invited to. According to The New York Times, the guest list is beyond impressive. “You have to be a creator — it’s artists, producers and songwriters, and it’s a mixture of new and familiar artists, a combination of the past two years’ Grammy nominees and also [acts] from the Spotify Discover playlist.” Artists like Tove Lo, Karen O and Kacey Musgraves are set to appear. Taylor Swift and Adele are also invited, despite the fact that they haven’t allowed their music on Spotify, which is the event’s sponsor. But we know what you’re thinking—Wait a second…Taylor Swift is invited?

It is surprising that Swift earned a spot on the guest list, since her song “Bad Blood” is rumored to be about Perry. In a 2014 interview with Rolling Stone, Swift referenced her feud with Perry, making clear the state of their relationship: “We’re just straight-up enemies.” Things only intensified from there. To our knowledge, the pop stars are still at war.

Maybe this party is just what the one-time pals need to make amends. In any case, it sounds like KP’s event will be as fun as her music: “In some ways, I’m trying to start the Met Ball of music.” And perhaps we’ll see a duet between the two at Monday night’s Grammys? Not likely, but we can dream.
