On Wednesday night, Justin Bieber posted an adorable black and white photo of him and his pup in dreamland. The pop star cleverly captioned the photo, “And on the 7th day…”—a reference, no doubt, to the biblical passage that tells of God’s creation of the heavens and the earth. As the passage goes, on the seventh day God rested. He—as in God—blessed the day and made it holy.
Instagram trolls, as they tend to do, hurdled over the witty caption and viciously attacked Bieber for daring to compare himself to God—a noble (maybe?) but terribly misguided mission. And the tabloids weren’t too easy on him either.
The “Sorry” singer was quick to adjust his Instagram caption, clarifying that he was in no way comparing himself to God and apologizing to anyone who was offended by the implication. As for the tabloids, he blasted them for once again picking on him.
We’re guessing it’s too late now for them to say sorry.
