What we are about to tell you is not going to be easy, so you might want to sit down. A Friends reboot is not happening. Ever.

Friends co-creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane broke the news, yet again, when they told The Hollywood Reporter that an official reboot of the series will never happen. The show, which aired its final episode in 2004 after ten years on the air, concluded as the creators had intended, Crane says. “To revisit those characters just seems like a bad idea — you don’t want to see them hanging out in the coffeehouse now.”

Kaufman added, “It will never happen, but no one tends to believe me. It shouldn’t happen. That show is about a time in your life when your friends are your family. Once you start having a family, that time of your life is over.”

*Cue all the feels and tears*

We suppose the NBC reunion special—airing February 1st—will have to be enough. But even that is a little disappointing because no Chandler. How do we file a complaint about all of this?
